   Seoul rice cake is a video work in collaboration with the owners of rice cake shop, who are first generation Korean- American family in Baltimore MD, acting the characters of Korean legendary fairy tale for the project.

 The traditional Korean folklore, “Tiger and Rice Cakes” is created in multiple layers of interpretations of the story by different generations, first reinterpreted through the performance of the owners, then narrated by their son and then music created in response by Eunbi Kim, a second generation Korean who born and grew up in US. 
 

한국의 해와 달 민담을 모티프로 미국 볼티모어의 한인 커뮤니티와 협업하여 만든 영상작업이다. 떡집 사장님 내외는 작가가 리메이크한 민담의 주인공인 호랑이와 여인을 연기한다. 이후 아들은 부모님이 출연하는 영상을 보고 이야기를 상상하고, 그 나레이션을 바탕으로 뮤지션이 음악으로 만든다.
